Project Overview
The primary goal of this project was to modernize the landscape while addressing key issues. Large trees, whose roots were damaging underground waterlines, were removed to prevent further problems around the water meters. The front monument signs were redesigned for a more contemporary look, and the playground was relocated to create a park-like atmosphere with curved walkways. Additionally, the pool deck was extended, incorporating a raised lounge area with shade sails to enhance the overall functionality and aesthetic of the space.
Project Location
This project was located in Crestview, Florida, and took place in a commercial environment, focusing on enhancing the outdoor spaces for a multi-family residential complex.
Scope of Work
For this project, the following landscape elements were designed and constructed:
- Modernized front monument signs to enhance the property's entrance.
- Creation of park-like atmospheres with curved walkways, open green spaces, and gathering areas for residents.
- Installation of Palms in the parking lot area to provide sun protection for vehicles and improve the overall aesthetics.
- Relocation and construction of playgrounds designed for safety and functionality.
- Addition of water features to bring tranquility and visual appeal to the landscape.
Design Inspiration
The vision behind this landscape design was to create a consistent and cohesive layout throughout the community, starting with the modernized front monument signs accented by elegant water features. To provide shade and aesthetic appeal, numerous Sylvester Palms were strategically placed throughout the parking lot. A tranquil, Zen-inspired garden was designed, featuring a concrete walkway to guide movement through the serene space. Additionally, the pool deck area was elevated to create a raised lounge space with outdoor couches for relaxation. The playground was thoughtfully relocated to a more suitable and accessible location, further enhancing the community’s overall flow and functionality.

Outcome
The completed landscape successfully transformed the space by modernizing the overall aesthetic and functionality of the property. The removal of problematic trees and the installation of new landscape elements helped resolve existing waterline issues while enhancing curb appeal. The redesigned monument signs and cascading water features created a striking entrance, while the raised pool deck and Zen garden offered residents inviting areas for relaxation. The relocated playground and consistent landscape theme throughout the property improved the flow and usability of outdoor spaces, fully meeting the client’s goals of creating a more cohesive, attractive, and functional community environment.
