Project Overview
This project involved transforming a student property located beside Tallahassee Community College into a community aimed at families and young professionals. The property, originally a gated community, required enhancements, including the removal of the guard shack and gate. A long driveway leading to the community needed beautification. The property featured rows of townhomes built on hilly terrain, along with a centrally located office and pool area that were outdated and needed a complete facelift.
Project Location
This project was located in Tallahassee, Florida, right next door to Tallahassee Community College.
Scope of Work
The project involved the design and construction of various landscape elements, including pavers, waterscapes, stones, art statues, and wall block.
Design Inspiration
The long driveway entering the community offered a unique opportunity to capture the attention of both potential and current residents. Large artwork, serpentine walls, pottery, and expansive plantings were strategically placed at the entrance to create an inviting aesthetic. The design emphasized consistency throughout the project, with low-maintenance landscaping. In the office area, parking spaces were removed to expand green space, incorporating landscape elements, waterscapes, and new paver walkways. The pool area was revitalized with a resurfaced deck featuring new pavers, and an arbor was added to the existing elevated deck.
Highlight Features
Standout features of this project include large artwork displayed along the long driveway, setting a welcoming tone for the community upon entry. Serpentine walls, pottery, and expansive plantings further enhanced the entrance. The newly resurfaced pool deck with pavers and the addition of an arbor on the elevated deck brought both charm and functionality to the communal space. The transformation of the office area, with expanded green space, waterscapes, and paver walkways, contributed to the modernized aesthetic of the property.
Materials Used
The materials used for this project included pavers, wall block, stones, pottery, water feature elements, and artwork statues.

The completed landscape transformed the property from a student-focused community to one that appeals to families and young professionals. The design improvements created a more inviting and visually appealing environment, improving curb appeal and functionality while maintaining a low-maintenance landscape that meets the client’s goals.
